Welcome to Bookroco — a home for public-domain literature that's actually a pleasure to read.
The internet is full of places to find ebooks, but most of them make you work for it: broken files, cluttered layouts, low-quality scans, and endless pop-ups between you and the story. We started Bookroco because we believe timeless books — the ones that belong to all of us — deserve better. Our mission is simple: to make the world's public-domain ebooks and audiobooks easy to find, clean to read, and free for everyone, everywhere.
What we do
Bookroco is a carefully curated library of public-domain and freely-licensed books. Every title in our collection is a work whose copyright has expired or that has been released for free use, which means anyone — including you — is free to read, download, and enjoy it at no cost.

Why "public domain" matters
When a book enters the public domain, it belongs to everyone. No one holds its copyright, so it can be freely shared and preserved for future generations. This is where some of the greatest works ever written now live — and we think that's worth celebrating and protecting.
We take the "public domain" part seriously. We make good-faith efforts to confirm that every work we host or link to is in the public domain in the United States, where our operations are based. Because copyright terms differ from country to country, we also encourage readers outside the US to check the status of a work in their own country before downloading — you can read more about this in our Terms of Service.
How we choose our books
Not every free file on the internet is worth your time, so we're selective. Before a book joins the library, we look at three things:
- Copyright status — we verify, to the best of our ability, that the work is genuinely in the public domain or freely licensed.
- Quality — we favor clean, readable editions over rough scans and error-filled files.
- Value to readers — we prioritize books people actually want to read, from enduring classics to hidden treasures.
We're always refining the collection, fixing issues readers report, and adding new titles.

Bookroco is an independent project run by a small team of book lovers who care about keeping great literature free and accessible. We're not a giant corporation — we're readers building the kind of library we always wished existed.
